Arriving by car. Eighteen free spaces on the gravel and two 7 kW chargers by the stables. Use the Bourton end of Rectory Lane rather than the Clapton end, which is narrower and worse after rain. Satnav takes you to the gate reliably; postcode GL54 2BP.

What to tell the driver

«The Old Rectory, Rectory Lane, off the A429 at the north end of Bourton». Drivers know Bourton; they do not always know the lane, because the sign at the top of it is a painted board the size of a tea tray.

If you arrive after eleven at night the front door is locked — ring the bell and the night porter will come. He is awake, not asleep behind the desk.

Quick answers

How quickly do you reply?

Within a few hours between seven in the morning and eleven at night, and the same day otherwise. If you need an answer immediately, telephone — somebody is always in the building.

Do you take a deposit?

No. Nothing is taken in advance, no card is held, and the bill is settled when you leave. Cancellation is free until midday on the day before arrival. For Orchard Cottage and whole-house bookings we ask for a deposit of one night.

Can we take the whole house?

Yes — all twenty-four rooms, usually from a Sunday to a Thursday and occasionally at weekends outside May to September. Write to events@bookyouroom.org with your dates and numbers.

Something was left behind.

Telephone reception. We keep found property for ninety days and post it anywhere at cost. Anything urgent — keys, documents, medication — goes by courier the same day.
